Educational Programmes

Light of Music offers world class music education programmes, specially tailored to meet the needs of

different age groups. With our expertise in many different genres of music, particularly classical and world

music, we can offer a unique learning experience. This will help our students to significantly improve their

musical skills and understanding, thereby enabling them to follow their passion and dreams in music. We

believe that it is never too early or too late to learn music.

Through its educational programme, Light of Music is committed to making music available to all cultures

and communities with the aim of helping individuals to pursue their passion for art and music and

achieving their goals.

As part of its educational programme, Light of Music runs weekly classes on all orchestral instruments, as

well as keyboards, guitars, voice, composition, music theory and music technology.

In addition to this, there are classes for world music instruments such as tar, daf, kanun, santur as well as

voice, solfeggio, aural training, composition and music theory. Please see Persian Music Education

Light of Music Symphony Orchestra Learning Project

As part of our learning programme, Light of Music is proud to offer orchestral places to talented music

graduates and pupils (grade 6 or above) who are seeking to expand their experience in playing in an

orchestra and orchestral repertoire.

Light of Music Symphony Orchestra is keen to co-operate with qualified young musicians on board as part

of our educational programme. Please contact us if you would like to take part in our exciting concerts and

to explore a wide range of repertoire.

According to various scientific researches, one year old babies who participate in interactive music classes

smile more, communicate better and show earlier and more sophisticated brain responses to music. Light

of Music creative early year programmes support learning, individual development and well-being.

Our aim is to give children from a very young age a tailored musical experience through participation and

game playing. We use a combination of singing, movement, listening and percussion playing to create a

stimulating learning environment together with storytelling, poetry, playing, and dances. Our

programmes are all delivered by highly skilled and experienced musicians/music teachers and are

available to nursery schools, children centres and all Early Years establishments across London and

Midlands.

Early Years Programme

Junior Education Programme

Our junior programmes will be designed specifically to the needs of the school and its pupils, so our

learning and education team will work closely with you to set objectives and plan for the project. Our

learning and education team always puts the specific needs and experience of the school and its students at

the forefront, when planning a project. Every project is delivered by highly skilled and experienced artist-

educators. Depending on the type of programme and the needs of school, the professional musicians of

Light of Music Symphony Orchestra may also join us to explore the ensemble and orchestral playing world

and improve the learning outcomes. Depending on the programme that the school requires the tuitions can

take place in:

• One to One sessions

• Small groups

• Whole class ensemble tuition

• Workshops with Light of Music Symphony Orchestra professional musicians

Some of the key points of our programmes are:

• Giving every student the opportunity to play an instrument in line with the aspirations of the National

Plan for Music Education.

• Teaching students a wide range of invaluable general musicianship skills, essential for any instrument

they choose to continue

• Professional musicians from Light of Music Symphony Orchestra will help students to choose an

instrument by giving them more knowledge and insight about the various instruments.

• Giving consultancy sessions to the student and their parents for buying instruments.

• Basic singing structures and preparing the students to sing some of the greatest music that have been

written for their age group.

• Involving students in vocal and instrumental ensembles thus boosting their self-confidence and team

working skills as well as discovering their talents and developing their technical skills, musicianship and

aural skills through the ensemble playing.

• All Programmes are designed to include performance opportunities, either within school, Youth centres or

in collaboration with Light of Music Symphony Orchestra.

Persian Music Education Programme

Persian Music Education Programme has been designed in line with Light of Music aspirations to promote

various forms of Iranian and Western arts to the community through music, drama, dance, concerts and

seminars.

This service is available countrywide for Persian schools, colleges and universities as well as private

individuals. The programme can take place in form of:

• One to one sessions

• Small groups

• Whole class ensemble tuition

• Workshops delivered by Light of Music Symphony Orchestra professional musicians and Persian music

experts

The programme is tailored to meet the needs of the students and in addition to music, the programme may

also include poetry, dance and drama. Every project is delivered by highly skilled and qualified artist-

educators. Depending on the school’s needs and learning objectives, the programme can be taught in

Persian or English.

We aim to give every student the opportunity to play an instrument in line with the aspirations of the
